A Little Book That Teaches You When To Quit (And When To Stick)
The “dip” in ‘The Dip’ refers to a period of time that can occur when working toward something difficult (e.g. mastery of a skill, advancement in a job role, etc). More specifically, the author espouses that there are three states in which a person can find themselves:
- The Dip
- The Cul-de-sac
- The Cliff
While the latter two should tell you to quit ASAP, the first can lead to success (if you stick with it). The goal of the book is to help you identify which state you’re in. While I don’t feel extremely confident that I know how to identify each, I do have a much better understanding of what the states are. Note: The book is only 75 pages long.
